A Maryland man was honored as a hero recently for jumping into a creek to save a boy from drowning. The man, Jack Severn, 71, of New Market, MD, was given a Heroism Medal from the Marine Corps League at the Maryland chapter’s annual convention in Ocean City, reports say.
