A man died recently while swimming in the Kaweah River in Sequoia National Park recently, reports say. The man, a 45-year-old unidentified man from the Los Angeles area, was riding the river on an inner tube-type floatation device near Buckeye Flat Campground when he went missing. An Ohio woman drowned last month when information she was given from the 911 operator after floodwaters swept her Volkswagen Beetle into an Ohio creek kept her in the car instead of trying to save herself by getting out of the submerged vehicle. The woman, Lisa Roswell of Norwalk drowned February 28 of this year after she called 911 for help. An apparent drowning victim identified as a 60-year-old Lake Shore man, was recovered from the waters of Upper Gull Lake recently, reports say. The man, whose name wasn’t released, had apparently been working on his dock when he somehow fell into the water. He was never reported missing.
