A woman on a whitewater rafting trip drowned earlier this month when the raft she was in flipped in a class III rapid on the New River Gorge National River, reports say. A man died recently while swimming in the Kaweah River in Sequoia National Park recently, reports say. The man, a 45-year-old unidentified man from the Los Angeles area, was riding the river on an inner tube-type floatation device near Buckeye Flat Campground when he went missing.
