Woman Dies on Roller Coaster

Louisiana inspectors are focusing on the restraining device on a 21-year-old woman’s seat which may have failed, vaulting the woman from a Baton Rouge Amusement park’s roller coaster, killing her, reports say Lindsay Zeno was killed when the bar that goes between the rider’s legs and is supposed to secure the rider in place reportedly failed. Machinist Killed in Lathe Accident

A North Carolina machinist was killed earlier this month as a metal rod departed the high-speed lathe on which he worked, striking and killing him. The accident, which occurred at the Statesville machine shop facility of R.P Machine, happened as the victim, 62-year-old Leonard Key, of Mooresville, had been working on a lathe on the Cochran Street shop. Indiana Student Drowns in Lake Accident

A 13-year-old Crown Point student at St. Mary’s Catholic Community School died in what appeared to be an accidental  drowning last month at Hermit Lake, reports conclude. Sean Woods, who lived in Merrillville, Indiana, was attending a friend’s party when he somehow slipped below the water and drowned. Owens-Corning Asphalt Accident Leaves Two Hospitalized

A pair of workers at the Owens Corning Plant in Kansas City, Kansas was injured last month as a result of an equipment malfunction while the men unloaded asphalt. Emergency services from Kansas City, Kansas were called out to address the situation at 8 a.m. to attend to the two employees, who had suffered critical burn injuries from the hot asphalt and were transported to a hospital.
