Fatal Traffic Accident at Houston’s Dixie Farm Road

A male victim, 27, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was killed at 1550 Dixie Farm Road about 2:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning late last month.

Reports say the accident occurred when the driver of a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Dixie Farm Road when, while attempting to pass a Nissan Frontier, the Ford struck the pickup truck. The driver of the Explorer lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over and eject both the driver and the passenger. 

The Ford’s driver died at the scene; the passenger, also male, 31, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition. The driver of the Nissan was not injured and called police from a nearby convenience store before returning to the scene.
