Helen Jackson, 82, of Dorchester, Ma, was killed in an accident involving an escalator at the MBTA’s State Street Station, reports say. Jackson was heading to a doctor’s appointment last month while embarking a station escalator when she apparently fell and a piece of her clothing got caught in the machinery, reports say. A three-year-old boy lost a finger recently following an accident on a Macy’s escalator, reports say. Even though doctors tried desperately to save the finger, it was eventually amputated. The boy, Maxlee Gell-Tejada, of Washington Heights, had been trying to retrieve a bottle he had dropped when his finger became caught in a third floor wooden escalator at the Macy’s in Herald Square, reports say.
